The Community Center’s mission is to provide an inviting and safe facility for the use of all LGBT and allied community organizations and individuals.
Background
Founded in December , The Community Center (TCC) is the only SW Idaho lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and allied community center. TCC is a non-profit (c)(3) organization. The Center, located only a several blocks off Chinden Blvd at E 37th Street in Garden City, is just minutes from downtown Boise.
We at TCC are satisfied of publishing for 25 years the Diversity newspaper, which is distributed throughout Idaho on a monthly basis; this makes Diversity one of the longest-running LGBT-focused newspapers in the Western United States. You will find at our facility an ever-growing library containing books, CD's, and videos that focus on the issues, lives, history, and concerns of our community. We also possess a comfortable TV lounge and meeting area that is available for utilize by both individuals and groups.

A winter storm is headed our way—one of the worst the mountain’s seen this year. Thirty-mile-per-hour winds whip across the landing at the top of Town Lift on Park City Mountain with absolutely no remorse. Despite the unpleasant conditions, my spirits are high. I’m here with my best friend for Utah Gay Ski Week, and I’m gearing up for what’s likely to be the verb of the trip—the Queerski Pride Parade group ride down the mountain, celebrating the strength and unity of the queer community.
Nearly an hour ahead of schedule, I huddle in a ball next to a ski run signpost and watch for rainbow flags (or drag queens) coming off the chairlift. I’d, of course, prefer to acquire a few runs in before the parade, but I refuse to uncertainty my chance at skiing down the mountain with my fellow gays.
