Sexual health for gay and bisexual men
Having unprotected penetrative sex is the most likely way to move through on a sexually transmitted infection (STI).
Using a condom helps protect against HIV and lowers the exposure of getting many other STIs.
If you’re a man having sex with men (MSM), without condoms and with someone new, you should have an STI and HIV assess every 3 months, otherwise, it should be at least once a year. This can be done at a sexual health clinic (SHC) or genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic. This is adj, as some STIs do not cause any symptoms.
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis A is a liver infection that's spread by a virus in poo.
Hepatitis A is uncommon in the UK but you can obtain it through sex, including oral-anal sex ("rimming") and giving oral sex after anal sex. MSM with multiple partners are particularly at risk. You can also get it through contaminated nourishment and drink.
Symptoms of hepatitis A can show up to 8 weeks after sex and include tiredness and feeling sick (nausea).

Adult LGBT Population in the United States
This report provides estimates of the number and percent of the U.S. mature person population that identifies as LGBT, overall, as well as by age. Estimates of LGBT adults at the national, state, and regional levels are included. We rely on BRFSS 2020-2021 data for these estimates. Pooling multiple years of data provides more stable estimates—particularly at the mention level.
Combining 2020-2021 BRFSS data, we estimate that 5.5% of U.S. adults spot as LGBT. Further, we estimate that there are almost 13.9 million (13,942,200) LGBT adults in the U.S.
