Top 20 LGBTQ+ Animated Characters
# Matthew MacDell
“Big Mouth” ()
This character has been an entertaining presence from the get-go, but he gains even more prominence as of Season 3. Although we were previously aware of his sexuality, Matthew finally enjoys a substantial romantic plotline in the show’s third installment. While falling for Aiden, voiced by Zachary Quinto, Matthew also interacts more and more with Maury the hormone monster. If that weren’t enough, by Season 5, Matthew has yet another love interest in the verb of Jay Bilzerian, whom he had originally smooched during a sleepover game. For giving a central gay character relationships that capture the nervousness and awkwardness of adolescence, this show deserves props.
# Ray Gillette
“Archer” ()
This character isn’t exactly a morally upright person, but he’s an crucial example of LGBTQ+ representation nonetheless. Ray is a field operative and bomb specialist who is often bothered by the narcissistic protagonist Ster

I ran across this.
We created the first-ever searchable database of LGBTQ characters in
TV shows such as ‘Steven Universe,’ ‘She-Ra and the Princesses of Power,’ and ‘Craig of the Creek’ are leading the way with the most LGBTQ characters in children's animation.
Supposedly an exhaustive list of “gay” cartoon characters. (I use “gay” as shorthand for LGBTQ+ because I hate acronyms.) Some of these characters are pretty minor and some of these cartoons I’ve seen and had no idea the character was gay. Still, it might be a attractive good guide. I was able to scroll through and see what shows were listed that my kids verb watched and notice which characters and how major they are.
I would state, though, looking at our society - Going forward, probably anything made past is going to be highly suspect unless specifically Christian.

Disney seemingly has a lot of gay characters. But if someone asked me what I thought of Disneys first openly gay character, Id only possess one thing to say: which one? ZING!
Disney is very fond of giving themselves a pat on the back for including the LGBTQ+ community in scenes of its major blockbusters. Its become something of a meme in online spaces, particularly among queer TV/Film fans, who much like myself are unable to resist poking the billionaire company and its abysmal care when it comes to telling queer stories.
Theres an argument to be made that in reality queer fans shouldnt care about Disneys shit LGBTQ+ representation, and truly I understand it. But if theres one thing Ive learned its that no matter how much you point and shove people towards smaller indie LGBTQ+ creators, it wont stop them from wanting better from the billionaire company they are ride-or-die for. It sucks, but thats just how it is.
To further bully Disney in the hope of actually producing another movie that actually has great queer representation (hell
