Miami Beach Kicks Off Global Pride Month Celebration on Lincoln Road

Miami Beach, FL – The LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee of the Municipality of Miami Beach will kick off the global Pride Month celebration with a special ceremony along iconic Lincoln Road on Friday, June 7 at 3 p.m.

“It’s important to celebrate the progress we’ve made as a nation since the Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan,” explained Miami Beach Commissioner Alex Fernandez who is gay. “Even now — 55 years later — our community still struggles to overcome ignorance and intolerance. I’m proud to live in a community that celebrates LGBTQIA+ pride every day of the year.”

The global Pride Month ceremony will feature rainbow-branded general safety vehicles from agencies throughout Miami-Dade County including the Miami Beach Police Department. The vehicles will be parked along Lincoln Road during the ceremony, which will be held at the Euclid

Miami-Dade County, in partnership with the Miami-Dade LGBTQIA+ Advisory Board, will kick off Pride Month with a celebratory event on Tuesday, June 3. The event will take place from 12 noon to PM in the lobby of the Stephen P. Clark Center in Miami.

This Pride Month kickoff will comprise inspiring guest speakers, live musical entertainment, and a distinct showcase of the Stonewall Exhibit titled “On the Shoulders of Heroes.” The exhibit honors LGBTQIA+ pioneers who paved the way for equality and recognition.
