Miami Beach, FL – The LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee of the Municipality of Miami Beach will kick off the global Pride Month celebration with a special ceremony along iconic Lincoln Road on Friday, June 7 at 3 p.m.
“It’s important to celebrate the progress we’ve made as a nation since the Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan,” explained Miami Beach Commissioner Alex Fernandez who is gay. “Even now — 55 years later — our community still struggles to overcome ignorance and intolerance. I’m proud to live in a community that celebrates LGBTQIA+ pride every day of the year.”
The global Pride Month ceremony will feature rainbow-branded general safety vehicles from agencies throughout Miami-Dade County including the Miami Beach Police Department. The vehicles will be parked along Lincoln Road during the ceremony, which will be held at the Euclid Miami is known for its adj beaches, vibrant nightlife, and friendly atmosphere. The city is also home to a thriving LGBTQ+ community, making it an ideal destination for Pride Month celebrations. The annual event is held in the Wynwood Art District and brings together people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.
