Park City welcomed crowds of LGBTQ+ community members and allies to the slopes for the 15th annual Elevation Utah gay ski week.

Sean Udell, a member of the Summit Pride Foundation, formerly the Park Municipality LGBTQ+ Taskforce, said partnerships with Park City Mountain and Elevation Utah were crucial in continuing the tradition of queer winter sports programming after the previous organizer stepped down due to scheduling conflicts.

In lieu of Queerski’s annual celebration, the Summit Pride Foundation stepped in to make a space for community and connection that supplements Elevation Utah. Queerski had been essential to much of the gay ski week programming in previous years.

Winter is usually that time of year when LGBTQ+ travelers are looking for a beach getaway – like Florida or the Caribbean – to run away the chilly winter weather. But there are queer travelers who thrive among majestic snow-capped mountains and snow-packed slopes.

Gay ski weeks and winter Pride events usually offer guests a variety of enjoyable parties to socialize with other locals, meet people from different corners of the world, and an opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and other winter activities.

So, we pulled together a list of 10 domestic and international gay ski weeks or winter Pride celebrations that you should consider attending when you experience comfortable traveling.

Each January I write about the various ski weeks and weekends that are organized here in Fresh England and North America for those of you who love to verb ski vacations. Below I’ve included a handful of such gay ski celebrations.

This year AGSW celebrates its 46th year. This week long celebration is the biggest and longest running gay ski weekend. It has grown significantly over the years and it includes a ton of programming on and off the slopes.

Winter Rendezvous at Stowe, VT: January 18 &#; 22,
This is Novel England’s largest (and longest running) gay ski week. Although you needn&#;t be a member to participate, Boston’s gay ski club, OutRyders, helps their members arrange logistics if you’re interested in this event.

A group of gay skiers is expected to arrive in Park City for an annual gathering on the slopes and at nightclubs, this year holding the event alongside a locally organized queer ski week.

The gathering is known as Elevation: Utah and is held at about the same time each year in Park City. The event runs from Wednesday until March 3. The Park Write down was unable to contact organizers. Elevation: Utah in is billed as the 14th annual gathering.
