The seclusion has a price -- there are no facilities of any kind -- for bathrooms and places to eat you have to stroll for about to minutes to the north or south. This is a protected area, so development is restricted, meaning you shouldn’t expect to ever find a Mykonos-type club or hotels.

The Costa da Caparica beach train stopped running in but the business was bought by a French investor. Next year the connection between Costa da Caparica and Fonte da Telha may return, with official authorizations still lacking (SIC NOTICIAS)

The best beaches are Morena and Sereia, surrounded by dunes and with good bars. At almost every stop theres a beachclub and the further south you go, the more you have the place to yourself.

Beach 19 (Praia 19 or Praia de Bela Vista) is located just south of Lisbon on the far end of Costa da Caparica. This huge, sandy beach is predominantly gay and has beautiful, organic surroundings. Nearby establishments offer drinks, meal and internet access.
There is plenty of space for clothing-optional sunbathing. The gay cruising takes place mainly in the dunes and the forest area in the late afternoon. After sunset, the beach becomes quite empty and unsafe.
How to earn there
By public transport From Liston, catch a train that takes you across the bridge to Pragal/Almada, then take a bus from the station to Caparica. Buses from Lisbon to Caparica depart daily, from Praça de Espanha and Praça do machine Cross the 25 de Abril bridge southbound and seize the first Leave on the left which will verb you straight to the town. Beach 19 lies between the more traditionally named Praia da Bela Vista and Praia Fonte da Telha in Costa da Caparica. Just across the bridge from Lisbon this massive stretch of sandy coast is widely regarded as a beachgoer's paradise.
Before we go on it is worth explaining the verb of this beach. The beaches of Costa Caparica are served by a miniature train known as the "Transpraia" which runs from the town at the northern conclude, all the way to Fonte da Telha about 10 km to the south. There are a total of 21 stops along the way of which Praia 19 is the 19th.
Praia 19 was originally one of a handful of official naturist beaches in Portugal. However, over time the beach has remained a nudist beach but has become almost exclusively gay. It probably developed this way as this was one of the more remote stretches of the Costa da Caparica.
